Terms of Use

Last updated: 16 October 2026

In short: Lens It is free and open source. Use it only with photos you're allowed to use and with people's consent, never for surveillance. It comes with no warranty.

1. Agreement

By using the Lens It website, the Try page, the app or the guest page, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Lens It.

2. Who we are, and the software

Lens It is a product of WANDERCOIL ("we", "us"). Its code is free, open-source software released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0. If you distribute Lens It, or run a modified version for others to use, you must make your full source code available under the same licence and keep our copyright notice. The face models (YuNet and SFace) are released by OpenCV under the Apache 2.0 License. These Terms add rules about acceptable use; they don't take away the rights those licences give you.

3. If you're a photographer or event organiser

4. If you're a guest or visitor

5. What you must not do

You must not use Lens It to identify, track or monitor people without their knowledge, to build face databases, to harass anyone, or for any unlawful purpose.

6. No warranty

Lens It is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Face matching can miss photos or, occasionally, match the wrong person, so people should always check their results. To the extent the law allows, the makers of Lens It aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from its use.

7. Trademarks

Lens It™, Wandercoil™ and their logos are trademarks of Wandercoil. The open-source licence covers the code only. You may not use these names or logos for your own products, forks or services, or in a way that suggests WANDERCOIL endorses you.

8. Payments

Lens It doesn't process payments. Any sale of photos is between the photographer and the guest.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Questions: github.com/Wandercoil/lensit/issues.
